I was on the train today and on my way to the city. It was a long travel. I look out the window, a verse popped in my head. So I decided to pull my ESV bible outta my bag. It only took 1 flip in order for me to stumble upon these verses. I’ve read them before but I seemed to have forgotten them. And this time these verses just became so alive in me. If you don’t mind, I’d like to share what I’ve learned from Him today here.
Let your love be genuine & sincere. Hate what is evil and stay away from the things that might cause you to stumble; instead focus on the eternal things. Focus on Me.
Love everyone in your life like how you love your own family. Even those people that always give you a hard time, love them. Matter of fact, honor and respect everyone else, regardless of how they treat you.
When it comes to serving and growing, don’t be lukewarm and lazy. Never settle for staying the same ‘spiritually’. Instead strive for growth and learning. And when you serve the Lord, serve Him with passion and with excitement.
As an Ambassador of God, a Follower of Christ, and a child of God, you have all the reasons in the world to be happy and be hopeful. Why? because you have Christ. So always rejoice and be happy. And when trials and sufferings come along your way, be patient, be faithful and be constant in prayer. If you see a need and an opportunity to shine His light through you, help those in need. Your Father in heaven honors that and will reward you.
If people mock you & persecute you, make no move. Instead ask God to bless them. And when your friends are happy, rejoice with them. If they’re sad, stand along side with them, and carry their burdens.
Live in peace with everyone. Avoid being prideful and thinking you are better than everyone else. but be willing to be friends with people who are not important to others. And when someone does you wrong, allow God to do the revenge for you. You just need to be still.
On the other hand, still love those who have hurt you. Jesus loved us even when were still sinners so why can’t we do the same thing with others.
And most importantly, don’t be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
Overcome everything with LOVE. – Romans 12:9-21
This may sound too difficult and too radical, but being a Follower of Christ is never easy, it requires a total surrender and devotion to Him.
I asked myself these questions earlier today. ‘Is my life marked by all these characters? Am I all about love? or Am I bitter?’ T’was really convicting. I don’t know about you, but maybe ask yourselves those questions too.
He was here because of His message. We are now saved because of His message. Now our purpose is to spread His message. To spread His LOVE. To spread His Gospel. And in order to do that, we must allow Him to transform our lives and be Marked with the characteristics of His son, Christ.
